Shadi Megallaa was one of the pioneers of the Dubai electronic scene in the early to mid 2000s where he continuously pushed the scene forward introducing new darker, minimal sounds to unsuspecting crowds at various venues. He infamously played the opening party of the now-defunct, short-lived legendary nightclub 'terminal' in the unfashionable Garhoud neighborhood near the Dubai Airport. Shadi started the first record label based out of Dubai called Vibrant Sounds before moving to Zurich to continue his DJing and producing career.Now back in Dubai he has been collaborating intensively with the local Dj community and has become resident in most of all the high-profile, high attendance, high quality Electronic events in town such as Groove on the Grass, Analog Room, Plus Minus among others. He recently opened The Flip Side, the only vinyl music shop in the UAE, curating & providing the coolest “cuts” & opening a new space for local electronic musicians to show their craft. He is truly one of Dubai’s local heroes.
